أعلمه به، وخوّفه منه قبل وقوعه، وحذّره من عواقبه

To inform someone about it, frighten them of it before it happens, and warn them of its consequences.
أي من نبَّه على الخطأ فقد أزال عذر المخطئ.
🇬🇧 Translation:
Whoever gives warning about a mistake has removed the excuse of the one who made the mistake.
