أرقبَ يُرقب، إرقابًا، فهو مُرقِب، والمفعول مُرقَب

جعلها له فإن مات أحدهما صارت للحيّ منهما، وهو من الرُّقبى؛ لأن كلَّ واحدٍ منهما ينتظر أو يرقب موت الآخر، لتكون له الدّار، أو الأرض، أو نحوهما.

Made it his, if one of them dies it goes to the living one, and it is from ruqba; because each of them waits or watches for the death of the other, so that the house, land, or the like becomes his (To grant ruqba / Conditional gift for the survivor).
