استخلف فلانًا

جعله خليفته، جعله يعقبُه ويتلوه، جعله مكانه

🇬🇧 Translation:

Made him his successor, made him follow him and succeed him, put him in his place

" استخلف أخاه في الإشراف على تربية أولاده
{لَيَسْتَخْلِفَنَّهُمْ فِي الأَرْضِ كَمَا اسْتَخْلَفَ الَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ} "

🇬🇧 Translation:

"He appointed his brother as his deputy in supervising the upbringing of his children
He will surely grant them succession [to authority] upon the earth just as He granted it to those before them [Quran]"
