اسم إشارة للجمع القريب المذكّر والمؤنّث، وتدخل عليه هاء التنبيه فيصبح هؤلاء واحده هذا وذا وهذه وتلحقه كاف الخطاب فيصبح أولئك واحده ذلك وذاك وتلك ويكثر استعماله فيما يعقل، وقد يرد لغيره
Translation:
A demonstrative pronoun for the near plural, masculine and feminine. When prefixed with ha' al-tanbih, it becomes hā'ulā' (whose singular is hādhā, dhā, and hāhihi). When suffixed with kāf al-khitāb, it becomes ulā'ika (whose singular is dhālik, dhāka, and tilka). It is mostly used for rational beings, and may occasionally be used for others.
