مضتْ عليه ليلةٌ

A night passed over it.

أظلَّه المبيت، وأَجَنَّه الليل سواءٌ أنام أم لم ينمْ.

The night overshadowed him and sheltered him, whether he slept or did not sleep.

نَزَلَ فيه، وأقام به ليلاً

🇬🇧 Translation:

He descended into it, and stayed there for the night.
