بسَمَ يَبسِم، بَسْمًا، فهو باسِم

انفرجت شفتاه عن ثناياه ضاحكًا دون صوت، وهو أخفّ الضَّحك وأحْسَنُه

his lips parted to reveal his front teeth smiling without sound, which is the lightest and finest form of laughter.

• مُتهلِّل الوجه
• بسمت له الدُّنيا : أقبلت عليه، ووافقته.

• having a radiant face
• Life smiled upon him: fortune favored him and went well with him.
