دأَبَ/ دأَبَ على/ دأَبَ في يَدأَب، دَأْبًا ودَأَبًا ودُءوبًا، فهو دائِب ودَئِب ودَءوب، والمفعول مَدْءوب

دأَب فلانٌ الشَّيءَ/ دأب فلانٌ على الشَّيءِ

لازمه واعتاده دون فتور، استمرّ وواظب عليه

🇬🇧 Translation:

Adhered to it and made it a habit without fatigue, persisted and persevered in it.

دأَب فلانٌ على عمله/ دأب فلانٌ في عمله

جدّ فيه واجتهد وتعب، استمرّ عليه

🇬🇧 Translation:

Worked hard and strived in it, persisted in it.

" دأَب العمالُ مطالبةَ الشَّركة بحقوقهم
دأَب على الصَّلاة في أوقاتها
{وَسَخَّرَ لَكُمُ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ دَائِبَيْنِ} : مستمرّان في الحركة لا يتوقَّفان
{كَدَأْبِ ءَالِ فِرْعَوْنَ وَالَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ} "

🇬🇧 Translation:

"The workers persistently demanded their rights from the company
He persevered in performing prayers on time
And He subjected for you the sun and the moon, continuous [in orbit] [Quran]: continuously moving without stopping
[Theirs is] like the custom of the people of Pharaoh and those before them [Quran]"
