ج أَفهُد وفُهود : (حن) سَبُع من فصيلة السِّنَّوريَّات مُرَقَّط بين النَّمر والكلب، مفترس، يمتاز بسرعته عَدْوًا وغَضَبًا، يُضرب به المثل في كثرة النوم والاستغراق فيه
