فتَن معارِضَه

عذّبه ليحوِّله عن رأيه أو دينه

To torture him in order to make him renounce his opinion or religion.

فتَن اللهُ المؤمنَ

رماه في شدّة ليختبره

🇬🇧 Translation:

To subject him to hardship to test him.

فتَنَ الشَّخصَ

أضلّه، أوقعه في الإثم

🇬🇧 Translation:

To lead astray, cause him to fall into sin.

" فتنت الحكومةُ المعارضين
فتن المحتلُّ الثوّارَ
{إِنَّ الَّذِينَ فَتَنُوا الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتِ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَتُوبُوا فَلَهُمْ عَذَابُ جَهَنَّمَ} : حرقوهم بالنَّار "
