تمنَّى مثلَ ما لَه من النعمة من غير أن يحسدَه أو يريدَ زوالَها عنه
🇬🇧 Translation:
to wish for oneself the like of the blessing that someone else has, without envying him or desiring its removal from him.
Example / Citation:
- " يَغبِطه أصحابُه لذكائه
- غبَطه على الجائزة
- اللهمَّ غَبْطًا لا هبْطًا
- فلا تغبَطنَّ المترفين فإنَّهم … على حسْب ما يكسوهم الدّهر يسلبُ
- فَأَقُومُ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ مَقَامًا لَا يَقُومُهُ أَحَدٌ غَيْرِي يَغْبِطُنِي بِهِ الأَوَّلُونَ وَالآخِرُونَ [حديث] "

- " His friends envy (in a good way) him for his intelligence
- He congratulated/envied him for the prize
- O Allah, let it be ghabt (admiring envy) not habt (detriment)
- Do not envy the affluent for they... according to what time clothes them, it strips away
- Then I will stand to his right in a station that no one else will occupy, which the first and the last will envy me for [Hadith] "
