نبيّ من أنبياء بني إسرائيل، وأخو النّبيّ موسى عليه السلام، وقد شدّ الله به أزرَه، وخلفه في قومه

A prophet from the prophets of the Children of Israel, and the brother of Prophet Moses (peace be upon him), through whom Allah strengthened his support and who succeeded him among his people.

{وَقَالَ مُوسَى لأَخِيهِ هَارُونَ اخْلُفْنِي فِي قَوْمِي}
{يَاأُخْتَ هَارُونَ}: المقصود أُخوّة العبادة، وقيل: إنّ هارون هنا أخٌ لمريم من أبيها، وقيل: كان هارون رجلاً صالحًا في زمن مريم فنُسبت إليه

'And Moses said to his brother Aaron, Take my place among my people'
'O sister of Aaron': meaning sisterhood in worship, and it is said that Aaron here was Mary's brother from her father, and it is said that Aaron was a righteous man in the time of Mary, so she was attributed to him.
