• جرَّب حظَّه : حاول أمرًا دون أن يكون متأكّدًا من الفوز به
• رَجُلٌ مجرَّب : جُرِّب في الأمور وعُرف ماعنده
• رَجُلٌ مجرِّب : عرف الأمور وجرَّبها.

• To try on a garment: to fit it to the body
• To try one's luck: to attempt something without certainty of winning
• An experienced man: tested in matters and known for his abilities
