خانَ يَخون، خُنْ، خِيانةً وخَوْنًا، فهو خائن، والمفعول مَخُون

خان الشَّخصُ صديقَه

غدَر به ولم يؤدّ حقّه

🇬🇧 Translation:

Betrayed him (was treacherous to him) and did not fulfill his right

🇬🇧 Translation:

Broke it and spoiled it after making it firm
His memory betrayed him: it did not help him remember
His legs betrayed him: they could not bear him so he fell, or he was unable to walk
Words betrayed him: failed him so he made a mistake
Time betrayed him/his luck betrayed him: he did not achieve his desire.

خان الزَّوجُ زوجتَه

أقام علاقة غير شرعية مع امرأة أخرى

🇬🇧 Translation:

Established an illicit relationship with another woman (committed adultery/cheated)

" أُعدِم جزاء خيانته وطنه
خان الأمانة/ اليمين : لم يؤدِّها
{وَإِمَّا تَخَافَنَّ مِنْ قَوْمٍ خِيَانَةً فَانْبِذْ إِلَيْهِمْ عَلَى سَوَاءٍ} "

🇬🇧 Translation:

"He was executed as a penalty for his treason to his country
Betrayed the trust/oath: did not fulfill it
If you [O Muhammad] fear from a people betrayal, throw [their treaty] back to them, [putting you] on equal terms [Quran]"
