(نت) عُشب مُعَمَّر من الفصيلة الزنبقيّة، ذو بصلة أرضيّة تخرج منها أوراق مفلطحة ليست جوفاء، تُطْبخ أو تُؤْكل طازجة، وله رائحة قويّة، كما أنّه مدِرّ للبول ومن أنواعه الكرّاث المصريّ، والكرّاث الشاميّ، وينطقه العامّة بالتاء.

(Botany) A perennial herb of the Liliaceae family, with an underground bulb from which flat, non-hollow leaves emerge. It is cooked or eaten fresh, has a strong odor, and acts as a diuretic. Types include Egyptian leek and Levantine leek. Colloquially pronounced with a 't'.
