(سف) نسبة إلى ماني بن فانك وُلد بجنوبي بابل نحو سنة 216 ميلاديّة، وادَّعى النبوّة، وهي فرقة غنوصيّة مسيحيّة كانت أخطر البدع التي تعرضت لها المسيحيّة وأطولها عمرًا، وتختلط فيها التعاليمُ المسيحيّة بالتعاليم اليهوديّة والبوذيّة والزرادشتيّة، وأهمّ أركانها القول بالثنائيّة، أي : إله للنور وإله للظلام.

Manichaeism; attributed to Mani son of Fanak, born in southern Babylon around 216 CE, who claimed prophecy. It is a Christian Gnostic sect that was the most dangerous and longest-lasting heresy faced by Christianity, blending Christian, Jewish, Buddhist, and Zoroastrian teachings, with its core pillar being dualism, namely a God of Light and a God of Darkness.
