مكَّة

مدينة إسلاميَّة مقدّسة، عاصمة الحجاز، وهي مسقط رأس الرسول محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم، وفيها المسجد الحرام والكعبة المشرَّفة، يحجّ إليها المسلمون كلَّ عام، وسُمّيت مكّة لأنّها تُنْقِص الذنوبَ أو تفنيها أو تهلِكُ من ظلم فيها

Makkah; the holy Islamic city, the capital of Hijaz, the birthplace of the Prophet Muhammad PBUH, containing the Sacred Mosque and the Noble Kaaba. Muslims perform Hajj to it every year. It was named Makkah because it diminishes sins, eradicates them, or destroys whoever acts unjustly in it.
