ملَكَ يَملِك، مَلْكًا ومِلْكًا، فهو مالِك، والمفعول مَمْلوك

قَدَرَ عليه وتحكّم فيه، تولاّه وتمكّن منه

• ملك غرائزَه : سيطر وتغلّب عليها، كبتَها
• ملَك نفسَه/ ملك زِمامَ نفسه : تحكَّم فيها، قدر على حبسها.

• Occupied and influenced him
• مَلَكَ غرائزَه: Controlled and overcame them, suppressed them
• مَلَك نفسَه / ملك زِمامَ نفسه: Controlled himself, capable of restraining himself.

شدّده وقوّاه، أنعم عجنَه وأجاده.
