شيشة؛ آلة يُدخَّن بها التبغُ، سُمِّيت بذلك لأنّ قاعدتَها تتَّخذ من النارجيل، وهو الجوز الهنديّ، ثم اتّخذت من الزُّجاج ونحوه.

Shisha; a waterpipe used for smoking tobacco, so named because its base was originally made from the nargileh (coconut), then later made of glass and the like.
