(كم) عنصر غازيّ يشكِّل ما يقارب خمس الهواء بالكتلة، لا لون له ولا رائحة، ويدخل هذا الغاز في العديد من المعادن وفي البروتينات ويستخدم بشكل واسع في العديد من الصِّناعات المهمَّة ومنها الأمونيا، وحمض النتريت، والأسمدة.
