ج عَراقيبُ :

Plural: عَراقيبُ (arāqīb) :

(شر) وَتَرٌ أو عَصَبٌ غليظ فوق عَقِب الإنسان أو الحيوان

🇬🇧 Translation:

(Anatomy) A thick tendon or nerve above the heel of a human or animal.

وصف حال من يعد ويخلف، وعُرْقوب كان رجلاً يُضرب به المثل لكذبه وخلفه بالوعد.

🇬🇧 Translation:

A description of one who makes promises and breaks them. 'Urqub was a man proverbial for his falsehood and failure to keep promises.

The bend or curve of a valley.

طريق ضيِّق في متن الجبل

🇬🇧 Translation:

A narrow path on the ridge of a mountain.

صعابُها، عراقيلها.

🇬🇧 Translation:

Its difficulties, its obstacles.

" أصاب عُرقوبَه
وَيْلٌ لِلْعَرَاقِيبِ مِنَ النَّارِ [حديث] : لتارك العراقيب في الوضوء فلا يغسلها "

" It hit his achilles tendon
Woe to the heels from the Fire [Hadith]: for those who neglect washing the heels in ablution "
