ج شبابيطُ : (حن) نوع من السَّمك، يكثر في نهر دِجلة، عريض الوسط، دقيق الذَّنَب، ناعم الملمس، قصير الرَّأس، ليِّن الزعانف، يتغذّى على كلّ ما يصادفه من نبات أو حيوان.

Plural: shababiyut : (Zoology) A type of fish, abundant in the Tigris River, broad in the middle, thin at the tail, smooth-skinned, short-headed, soft-finned, feeds on whatever it encounters of plants or animals (Carp/Shabbout).
