جج أشْعار وشعُور، مف شَعْرة وشَعَرة : (شر) زوائد خيطيّة تظهر على جلد الإنسان ورأسه وعلى جلد غيره من الثدييّات، تقابل الرِّيشَ في الطيور والحراشيفَ في الزّواحف والقشورَ في الأسماك

🇬🇧 Translation:

Plural of ash'ar and shu'ur, singular is sha'rah and sha'arah : (Anatomy) Thread-like appendages that appear on the skin and head of humans and the skin of other mammals, corresponding to feathers in birds, scales in reptiles, and scales in fish (Hair).

قطَع شعرةَ معاوية : قطع صلته به
قَيْد شَعْرَة : قدر شعرة، مسافة ضئيلة
كما تُسلُّ الشَّعرةُ من العجين : بسهولة دون عواقب
وقَف شعرُ رأسِه : خاف خوفًا شديدًا، فزِع.

Equally
Cut the hair of Mu'awiyah: severed his relationship with him (metaphor for completely cutting ties)
A hair's breadth: the size of a hair, a tiny distance
Like a hair pulled from dough: easily without consequences
