Root: ص ن م
ج أصنام : كلّ ما عُبد من دون الله من تمثال أو صورة يُزْعم أن عبادتها تقرِّب إلى الله
🇬🇧 Translation:
Pl. أصنام: Anything worshipped besides Allah, whether a statue or an image, claimed to bring one closer to Allah through worship.
صنَّمَ يصنِّم، تصنيمًا، فهو مُصنِّم، والمفعول مُصنَّم (snm-5) صَنَميَّة (snmyh)

Example / Citation:

  • " {فَأَتَوْا عَلَى قَوْمٍ يَعْكُفُونَ عَلَى أَصْنَامٍ لَهُمْ}
  • {وَتَاللهِ لأَكِيدَنَّ أَصْنَامَكُمْ} "
