صرّار

(حن) حيوان يعيش داخل تجاويف صغيرة يحدثها في الحقول والبراريّ، ويلجأ إليها بسرعة كلَّما شعر بالخطر، يرتفع صرير الذكور في موسم الإخصاب، تضع الأنثى البيضَ في ثقوب تحدثها في التربة، وتتعهّد الأنثى اليرقات حتى يكتمل نموّها.

(Zool.) An animal that lives inside small cavities it makes in fields and prairies, quickly retreating into them whenever it senses danger. The stridulation of males increases in the mating season, the female lays eggs in holes she makes in the soil, and the female tends the larvae until their growth is complete.
