ملَكَ نفسَه، أخفى اضطرابه وسيطر على انفعلاته

ضبط نفسَه عنه فلم يتناوله، امتنع عنه

Restrained himself from it and thus did not engage in it, abstained from it.

• تحكُّم الشّخص بمشاعره أو رغباته أو ميوله
• لم يتمالَك نفسَه : لم يتحكّم فيها، لم يستطع حبس نفسه عن فعل شيء ما.
