اجتمعوا عليه يبتدئ هذا ويمدُّ صوته ثم يسكت ويأخذ غيرُه في مدِّ الصوت وهكذا

They gathered for it, this one begins and prolongs his voice then falls silent, and another takes over prolonging his voice, and so on (To take turns singing/calling).
