(جو) الطبقة السفلى من الغلاف الجوِّي، وهي تمتد من سطح الأرض حتى ارتفاع نحو سبعة كيلو مترات عند كلّ من القطب الشماليّ والقطب الجنوبيّ، ونحو سبعة عشر كيلو مترًا عند خطّ الاستواء.
