ج أَرْؤُل وأورال ووِرْلان : (حن) حيوان من الزَّحّافات، طويل الأنف والذَّنب، دقيق الخَصْر، وهو أطول من الضَّبِّ وأقصر من التِّمساح، يكون في البَرّ والماء، يأكل العقارب والحيّات والحَرابيّ والخنافس، والعرب تستخبثه فلا تأكله.

(Zoology) Monitor lizard (Varanus): a reptile with a long snout and tail, and a slender waist. It is longer than the dabb lizard and shorter than the crocodile, living on land and in water. It eats scorpions, snakes, chameleons, and beetles, and the Arabs consider it foul and do not eat it
