وَشَق

(حن) حيوان من فصيلة القِطّ، ورتبة اللّواحم، من الثّديّيات، وهو بين القِطّ والنَّمِر، رأسه كبير، وعلى طرف كلّ من أذنيه خصلة من الشَّعر، وذيله قصير، يقطن الغابات كما يوجد في الصّحارى والمناطق الزِّراعيّة، يُصاد لفروه.

(Zoology) Lynx; an animal of the cat family, order Carnivora, among mammals. It is between a cat and a leopard, has a large head, a tuft of hair on the tip of each ear, and a short tail. It inhabits forests and is also found in deserts and agricultural areas, hunted for its fur.
