Something fixed in the ground or a wall, made of wood or the like, to support a fence, pitch a tent, tie an animal, mark points in surveying, or as a weapon when sharpened at the end, a stake.

(عر) ما كان في العَروض من أجزاء التفاعيل على ثلاثة أحرف متحركيْن وساكن، وهو على ضربين : مقرون ومفروق.

(Prosody) What constitutes the parts of poetic feet (tafa'il) consisting of three letters: two vowelled letters and one quiescent letter, and it is of two types: maqrun and mafruq.
قطعة من المعدن سميكة من جهة، ومستدقة ورفيعة من الجهة الأخرى؛ وذلك لإدخالها بسهولة في شقٍّ ضيِّق، وتستخدم للتقسيم أو التثبيت أو الرفع.

وتَدَ يَتِد، تِدْ، وَتْدًا وتِدَةً، فهو واتِد، والمفعول موتود (wtd) وتَّدَ/ وتَّدَ في يوتِّد، تَوتيدًا، فهو مُوَتِّد، والمفعول مُوَتَّد (wtd-2) تِدَة (tdh-2) وَتْد (wtd-3)
