وَثَن

ج أوثان ووُثْن ووُثُن : تمثال يُعبَد سواء أكان من خشب أم حجر أم نُحاس أم غير ذلك، وقد يُقال لما يُعبد من غير التماثيل

Pl. أوثان, وُثْن, and وُثُن : An idol that is worshipped, whether made of wood, stone, copper, or other materials, and it may also be applied to objects of worship other than statues.

" عبد النّاسُ في الجاهلية الأوثان
{إِنْ يَدْعُونَ مِنْ دُونِهِ إلَاّ وُثُنًا} [ق]
{إِنْ يَدْعُونَ مِنْ دُونِهِ إلَاّ وُثْنًا} [ق] "

" عبد النّاسُ في الجاهلية الأوثان
