ج يَرَقان : (حي) أحد أطوار النموّ في بعض الحيوانات كالحشرات والقشريَّات والرخويَّات وغيرها يخرج من البيضة، وقد يتحوّل إلى الحيوان اليافع مباشرة كما في الجراد أو يمرّ بأطوار أخرى، كدودة ورق القطن والنحل والذباب والبعوض وغيرها
