افتدى نفسَه

فداها؛ خلَّصها ممّا كانت فيه

🇬🇧 Translation:

Redeemed/ransomed it; delivered it from what it was in

" افتدى الأسيرَ بماله
افتدت المرأةُ من زوجها : أعطته مالاً حتّى تخلّصت منه بالطّلاق
{يَوَدُّ الْمُجْرِمُ لَوْ يَفْتَدِي مِنْ عَذَابِ يَوْمِئِذٍ بِبَنِيهِ}
{فَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْهِمَا فِيمَا افْتَدَتْ بِهِ}
{لَوْ أَنَّ لَهُمْ مَا فِي الأَرْضِ جَمِيعًا وَمِثْلَهُ مَعَهُ لَافْتَدَوْا بِهِ}
{فَلَنْ يُقْبَلَ مِنْ أَحَدِهِمْ مِلْءُ الأَرْضِ ذَهَبًا وَلَوِ افْتَدَى بِهِ} "

🇬🇧 Translation:

"He ransomed the captive with his money
The woman bought her freedom from her husband by giving him wealth until she was divorced
{The criminal will wish that he could ransom himself from the punishment of that Day by his children}
{There is no blame upon them concerning that by which she ransoms herself}
{Indeed, if those who disbelieved had all that is in the earth and the like of it with it to ransom themselves by it...}
{Never would it be accepted from one of them if he offered the earth full of gold as ransom}"
