• عضَّ اليدَ التي أطعمته : أساء إلى مَنْ أحسن إليه
• عضَّ فلانًا بلسانه : تناوله، شتمَه، ذكره بسوء
• عضَّه الدَّهْرُ بنابه : أصابه بشرّه
• عضَّه الدَّهْرُ والزَّمانُ : اشتدّ وقسى عليه.

• Was extremely angry with sorrow and remorse
• عضَّ اليدَ التي أطعمته (to bite the hand that fed one): to wrong someone who did good to one
• عضَّ فلانًا بلسانه (to bite someone with one's tongue): to attack, insult, or speak ill of him
• عضَّه الدَّهْرُ بنابه (time bit him with its fang): he was struck by its evil
• عضَّه الدَّهْرُ والزَّمانُ (time and fate bit him): life became hard and cruel to him.

• حافظ عليه? عضَّ عليه بالنَّواجذ : استمسك به، حرَص عليه
• عضَّ في الأمر بناجذه : أتقنه.

• Guarded and maintained it? عضَّ عليه بالنَّواجذ (to bite onto it with the molars): to hold fast to it, cling to it
• عضَّ في الأمر بناجذه (to bite into the matter with one's molar): to master it completely.

• عضَّ بَنان النَّدم : تندّم، تحسَّر على شيء لم يفعله وظهرت قيمة فعله مستقبلاً
• عضَّ على نواجذه : كبت شعورَه، كظم غيظَه
• عضَّ على يديه حنقًا : بالغ في عداوته.

🇬🇧 Translation:

• عضَّ بَنان النَّدم (to bite the fingertips of regret): to repent, grieve over something not done realizing its future value
• عضَّ على نواجذه (to bite down on one's molars): to suppress one's feeling, swallow one's anger
• عضَّ على يديه حنقًا (to bite one's hands in rage): to be extreme in hostility.
