- دَبَّ الرَّجلُ على العَصا : تقدّمت به السّنّ وكَبُر
- دبَّ بين القوم بالنَّمائم/ دبَّت عقاربُه على القوم : أوقع بينهم، انتشرت نمائمه وأذاه وأعمل الوشايَة بين النَّاس.

- To lie intensely about the living and the dead

دبَّتِ الحَيَّةُ أو الدُّودةُ ونحوُهما
زحفَت، مَشَت مَشيًا بطيئًا

دَبَّ الإنسانُ أو الحيوانُ على الأرض
مشَى مع إحداثِ صوتٍ بقدميه

Walked, making a sound with his feet
كُلّ من هَبَّ ودَبَّ : كلّ إنسان، عامّة الناس.
🇬🇧 Translation:
Everyone who rose and crept (everyone and anyone): every person, the general public.
دبَّ الشَّيءُ في الشَّيء
سَرَى فيه وانتشر
🇬🇧 Translation:
Crept into it and spread
دبَّ الخلافُ بينهم : وقع.
🇬🇧 Translation:
Dispute crept among them: Occurred.
