الشيخ الكبير الهَرِم وقيل له ذلك لدنوه من الفناء.

The very old, senile man; he was called so because of his proximity to annihilation.

بذل غاية جهده لإنجازه

🇬🇧 Translation:

exerted his utmost effort to accomplish it
