تمتم، تكلّم بغير وضوح، لم يُبيِّن كلامَه، قطّع الحروفَ وأصدر أصواتًا لا يفهمها الناس

Muttered, spoke unclearly, did not articulate his speech, cut off letters and made sounds that people do not understand.

• صاتوا عند القتال
• غمغم الثَّوْرُ : صوّت عند الفزع والهياج
• غمغم الطِّفلُ : بكى على ثدي أمّه طلبًا للّبن إذا كان الثدي لا يدِرّ.
