ج هَداهِدُ وهَداهيدُ :

pl. Hadāhid and Hadāhīd.
(حن) جنس طير من فصيلة الجواثم الرَّقيقة المناقير، حسن الشّكل له ريش مجتمع فوق رأسه
🇬🇧 Translation:
(Zoology) A genus of birds from the family of slender-billed passerines, attractive in appearance with a crest of feathers on its head.
- مثَل لمن يكثر السجود
- عذاب الهُدهُد : مثَل لمن يسأم سوء العذاب
- هُدْهُد سليمان : مثَل للإنسان الصغير يدلّ على الشيء العظيم.
🇬🇧 Translation:
- A proverb for one who prostrates frequently
- The torment of the hoopoe: A proverb for one weary of severe torment
- Solomon's hoopoe: A proverb for a small person indicating a great matter.
كُلٌّ ما يقرقر من الطَّير.
🇬🇧 Translation:
Any bird that coos or makes a cooing sound.
حمام كثير الهدهدة
🇬🇧 Translation:
A pigeon that coos frequently.

" {وَتَفَقَّدَ الطَّيْرَ فَقَالَ مَا لِيَ لَا أَرَى الْهُدْهُدَ} "
🇬🇧 Translation:
" {وَتَفَقَّدَ الطَّيْرَ فَقَالَ مَا لِيَ لَا أَرَى الْهُدْهُدَ} " (And he surveyed the birds and said, "Why do I not see the hoopoe?")
