حلَبَ يَحلُب ويَحلِب، حَلْبًا، فهو حالب، والمفعول مَحْلوب وحَلُوب

درَّته، أخرجته، أنتجته.

استخرج ما في ضَرْعها من لبَن

Milked the ewe and the like; extracted the milk in its udder

• ابرُك ثم افهم
• حلَب الدَّهرَ أَشطُرَهُ : جرّب أمورَه خيرها وشرّها
• حلبتِ بالسَّاعد الأشدّ : استعنتَ بمَنْ يقوم بأمرك ويُعنى بحاجتك
• ما له حلب ولا جلب : أن إبله أنتجت كلّها ذكورًا ولم تنتج إناثًا لتحلب أو لتجلب.

• حلَب الدَّهرَ أَشطُرَهُ: experienced the ups and downs of time (its good and bad)
• حلبتِ بالسَّاعد الأشدّ: sought help from the strongest arm, meaning you relied on someone who manages your affairs and attends to your need
• ما له حلب ولا جلب: he has no milking and no driving, meaning his camels all produced males and no females to be milked or driven.
