حمَلَ على يَحمِل، حَمْلَةً، فهو حامل، والمفعول محمول عليه

شدّ عليه شدّة منكرة.

Assaulted him fiercely.

" حمَل على دعاة التخريب حملة كشفت عن أغراضهم الشّرِّيرة
حمَل على العدوّ حملة صادقة
{فَمَثَلُهُ كَمَثَلِ الْكَلْبِ إِنْ تَحْمِلْ عَلَيْهِ يَلْهَثْ أَوْ تَتْرُكْهُ يَلْهَثْ} "

"He launched a campaign against the subversive agitators that exposed their evil purposes
He attacked the enemy with a sincere assault
His likeness is as the dog: if you drive him away, he pants, or if you leave him, he pants [Quran]"
