(سة) حقّ خصّت به الدّول الخمس ذات المقعد الدَّائم في مجلس الأمن التَّابع لهيئة الأمم المتَّحدة يخوِّل كلاًّ منها أن توقف أو تنقض قرارات المجلس التي لا توافق عليها.

(قن) السُّلطة المكتسبة أو الحقّ المُعطى لفرع أو دائرة حكوميّة لرفض الموافقة على إجراءات مُقترَحة من دائرةٍ أخرى وخاصّة السُّلطة الممنوحة للمدير التنفيذيّ لرفض مشروع قانون تقدِّمه الهيئة التَّشريعيّة وبذلك يُرفض أو يتمُّ تأخير تنفيذه ليصبح قانونًا.

(Law) The acquired authority or right given to a government body to reject proposed measures from another body, specifically executive authority to veto legislation passed by the legislature.

حقُّ اليقين

(سف) مصطلح صوفيّ يعبّر عن عُليا مراتب المعرفة عند الصُّوفيّة، وفيها تتوحَّد ذات العارف مع موضوع المعرفة، بمعنى فناء العبد في الحقّ والبقاء به علمًا وشهودًا، وأُولى مراتب المعرفة علم اليقين يليها مرتبة عين اليقين ثم حقّ اليقين.

(Sufism/Philosophy) A Sufi term denoting the highest level of spiritual knowledge (Haqq al-Yaqin), wherein the knower's essence merges with the Known through annihilation (fana') and subsistence (baqa') in God. The levels of knowledge progress from 'ilm al-yaqin (certain knowledge) to 'ayn al-yaqin (certain vision) to haqq al-yaqin (total truth).

حقُّ المياه

(قن) حقّ سحب المياه من مصدر معيّن، بحيرة أو قناة أو غيرهما.

حقُّ الخيار

الحقُّ أو الفرصة لقبول أو رفض شيء قبل عرضه في مكان آخر.

سقوط الحَقّ

(قن) زوال الحقّ من يد صاحبه لأنّه لم يستعمله في مدَّة معيَّنة؛ كسقوط حقّ المحكوم عليه في استئناف الحكم إذا لم يستأنفه في الآجال الموقوتة قانونًا.

(law) Forfeiture or loss of a right due to non-exercise within a specified period; such as the loss of a convicted party's right to appeal a judgment if not appealed within the legally prescribed time frame (statute of limitations / forfeiture of rights).

حقُّ الدِّفاع عن النَّفس

(قن) الحقّ في حماية النَّفس من العنف أو التّهديد به بأيّة قوَّة أو وسيلة ضروريّة.

(law) The right to protect oneself from violence or threat of violence by any necessary force or means (right of self-defense).

حقُّ الزِّيارة

(مع) حقّ الأب أو الأمّ في زيارة طفلهما كما نُصَّ في أمر الطَّلاق أو الانفصال.

(social/law) The right of a father or mother to visit their child as stipulated in a decree of divorce or separation (visitation rights).

الحقوق المدنيَّة

الحقوق التي يخوِّلها القانون لجميع المقيمين في الدولة وهي أشمل من الحقوق السياسيّة المتّصلة باختيار الحاكم، كما أنّها تتميّز عن الحقوق الطبيعيّة في أنّ لها قيمة قانونيّة إلى جانب قيمتها الفلسفيَّة المثاليَّة، والحقوق المدنيَّة نسبيَّة غير مطلقة تتكيَّف أوضاعها مع الزمان والمكان.

Rights granted by law to all residents of a state, being broader than political rights associated with choosing a ruler. They differ from natural rights in that they possess legal validity alongside their ideal philosophical value, and civil rights are relative rather than absolute, adapting to time and place.

حقوق الإنسان

الإعلان العالمي لحقوق الإنسان : وثيقة أقرَّتها الأمم المتحدة عام 1948م، ونصَّت فيها على حقوق البشر الأساسيَّة كالمساواة، وحريّة الفكر، والضمير، والدين، والحقّ في مستوى من العيش كافٍ لضمان الصِّحَّة والهناء.

Universal Declaration of Human Rights: a document adopted by the United Nations in 1948, defining fundamental human rights such as equality, freedom of thought, conscience, and religion, and the right to a standard of living adequate for health and well-being.
