خدَعَ يَخدَع، خَدْعًا وخُدْعةً وخَدِيعةً وخِدَاعًا، فهو خادِع، والمفعول مَخْدوع وخَدوع

خدَع الشَّخصَ

أظهر له خلاف ما يُبطن، وأضمر له المكروهَ؛ ليأتيه من حيث لا يعلم، أغواه، أضلّه، غشّه

🇬🇧 Translation:

To show someone the opposite of what one conceals, to harbor ill intent toward them so as to catch them unawares, to seduce, to mislead, to deceive

🇬🇧 Translation:

To entice someone with glossy appearances
Self-deceiving: Believing in a misconception, idea, or false opinion about oneself
Deceiving oneself: To be deluded
Deceptive path: Unclear, appearing at times and disappearing at others.

خدَع العينَ

شكّكها فيما ترى.

🇬🇧 Translation:

To make the eye doubt what it sees.

" تستطيع أن تخدع بعضَ الناس بعضَ الوقت، لكنك لا تستطيع أن تخدع كلّ الناس طول الوقت [مثل أجنبيّ]
{وَإِنْ يُرِيدُوا أَنْ يَخْدَعُوكَ فَإِنَّ حَسْبَكَ اللهُ} "

"You can fool some of the people some of the time, but you cannot fool all of the people all of the time [foreign proverb]
If they intend to deceive you, then indeed Allah is sufficient for you [Quran]"
