ج مِعاز ومَعْز ومَعَز ومواعزُ : (حن) واحد من المَعْز، ذو الشَّعَر من الغنم، خلاف الضَّأن، يُطلق على الذَّكر والأنثى، وقد يقال للذَّكر : تَيْسٌ، وللأنثى : عَنْزٌ وماعزةٌ ومعزاة، له قرنان أجوفان، يُربَّى للبنه ولحمه
