نهر جليديّ
كتلة كبيرة من الثَّلج تنساب ببطء على مساحة كبيرة من الأرض حيث تتشكَّل من الثَّلج المدمج والملتصق مع بعضه البعض من منطقة تفوق فيها تجمُّعاتُ الثَّلج عمليّةَ الذَّوبان والتَّبخير.

glacier; a large mass of ice that moves slowly over a large area of land, formed from compacted and fused snow from an area where snow accumulation exceeds melting and evaporation.
فَرَس النَّهر
(حن) حيوان برمائيّ ثدييّ ضخم الجثَّة، يقضي معظمَ وقته في قاع النهر أو البحيرة، يصعد من وقت لآخر؛ ليستنشق الهواء الجوِّيّ ويتغذَّى على الأعشاب.
