صادَ يَصِيد، صِدْ، صَيْدًا، فهو صائد، والمفعول مَصيد

Root: ص ي د

صاد الطَّيرَ ونحوَه

قنَصه أو أمسكه بالمصيدة أو أصابه بالبارود

🇬🇧 Translation:

Hunted it or caught it with a trap or hit it with gunpowder (To hunt/catch/fish).

تألّفهم وجذبهم نحوه.

🇬🇧 Translation:

Tamed them and attracted them to himself (To win over/attract).

" صاد السَّمكَ/ الحيوانَ
خاطِر بالسَّمكة الصغيرة لتصيد الكبيرة [مثل أجنبيّ]
{أُحِلَّتْ لَكُمْ بَهِيمَةُ الأَنْعَامِ إلَاّ مَا يُتْلَى عَلَيْكُمْ غَيْرَ مُحِلِّي الصَّيْدِ} "

" sada as-samaka/ al-hayawana
khatir bis-samakati as-saghirati litasida al-kibirata [mathal ajnabiyy]
{uhillat lakum bahimatu al-an'ami illa ma yutla 'alaykum ghayra muhilli as-saydi} (He fished/hunted the animal
Risk a small fish to catch a big one [Foreign proverb]
Lawful for you are the animals of grazing livestock except for that which is recited to you [in this Qur'an]
hunting not being permitted while you are in the state of ihram). "
