شلل الأطفال
(طب) مرض مُعدٍ ينتج عن الإصابة بفيروس خاصّ يؤدِّي إلى شلل دائم للعضلات وتدمير لأعصابها وبالأخصّ النخاع الشوكيّ، وقد أمكن الوقاية من هذا المرض عن طريق الأمصال أو لقاح وقائيّ يُعطى للأطفال على جُرعات سنويّة.
