pl. تَماسِيحُ : (Zoology) Crocodile; an amphibious animal of the order Crocodilia and reptile family, large-bodied, long-tailed, short-legged, its body covered with a sturdy armor like that of a turtle, composed of interconnected horny scales
يُضرب لمن يتباكى ويتظاهر بالحزن لأن التَّماسيح تسيل دموعها وهي تلتهم فريستها.

Used as a metaphor for someone who fakes tears and pretends to grieve, because crocodiles shed tears while devouring their prey.
