وقَعَ الطّيرُ على الشّجرِ ونحوِه
- نزَل? إن الطُّيور على أشكالها تقع [مثل] : أي أن الشَّخص يعاشر أمثاله وينجذب إلى شبيهه
- وقَع اختياره على فلان : خصّه بالاختيار وانتقاه من بين الآخرين
- وقَع ظنّه على فلان : ألقى ظنَّه عليه
- وقَع نظره على كذا : رآه، شاهده.

- landed, perched? Birds of a feather flock together [Proverb]: meaning a person associates with his like and is attracted to his peer
- His choice fell upon someone: he singled him out and selected him from among others
- His suspicion fell upon someone: he directed his suspicion toward him
- His sight fell upon something: he saw it, witnessed it.

- وقَع في الحُبّ : أحبّ فجأة
- وقَع في فخٍّ : انخدع، جازت عليه حيلة
- وقَع في قَبْضَته : حازه، تحكَّم فيه.

وقَعَ الكلامُ في نفسه
أثَّر فيها

- وقَع في قلبه : ارتاح له، أثَّر عليه

- وقَع في يده : ندِم، تحسَّر.
