ظَبْي

ج أظْبٍ وظِباء وظُبِيّ، مؤ ظَبْية، ج مؤ ظَبْيات وظِباء : (حن) غَزالٌ، حيوان ثدييّ مُجْترّ من ذوات الأظلاف والمجوّفات القرون، رشيق القوام، نحيف القوائم طويلُها، عيناه كبيرتان وقرون ذكوره منتصبة لولبيَّة الدورة، أَشْهرُه : الظبي العربيّ
🇬🇧 Translation:
plural أظْبٍ, ظِباء, and ظُبِيّ, feminine ظَبْية, feminine plural ظَبْيات and ظِباء : (Zoology) Gazelle, a ruminant mammal with cloven hooves and hollow horns, graceful in build, with slender, long legs, large eyes, and the horns of the males are erect and spiral. The most famous is the Arabian gazelle.
- قَلَّ أن يمرض، أو لا يُعْرف موطنُ دائه
- لأتركَنّك تََرْكَ الظَّبي ظِلَّه : لا أعودُ إليك، لأن الظَّبي إذا نفر من مكان لم يَعُدْ إليه
- هو في قَرْن ظَبْي : غير مستقرّ.
🇬🇧 Translation:
- Rarely falls ill, or the locus of its disease is unknown
- I will surely leave you as the gazelle leaves its shadow: I will never return to you, because when a gazelle is startled and flees a place, it never returns to it
- He is in the horn of a gazelle: Unstable.
