مؤ بَرْدِيّة، ج مؤ بَرْديّات : (نت) جنْس نبات مائيّ عُشبيّ من فصيلة السُّعْديّات، يعلو نحو متر أو أكثر، يكثر وجوده في منطقة المستنقعات بأعالي النيل، انتفع به المصريّون القدماء في بناء بيوتهم وسفنهم، كما صنعوا منه ورق البَرْديّ للكتابة عليه

feminine bardiyyah (بَرْدِيّة), feminine plural bardiyyāt (بَرْديّات): (Botany) A genus of aquatic herbaceous plants of the sedge family (Cyperaceae), growing about a meter or more in height, abundant in the swamp regions of the upper Nile. Ancient Egyptians used it to build houses and boats, and made papyrus paper from it for writing.
